Why can’t the bed surface of X-ray film be made of metal?

Before explaining this problem, we need to have a simple understanding of X-ray imaging principles.
X-rays have many characteristics, such as penetrability, fluorescence effect, photosensitive effect, ionization effect, and biological effect. These are the basic characteristics of X-rays that can be used for fluoroscopy.
X-rays have the same degree of penetration for objects of different properties, so we can see the internal image on the developing medium.
However, X-rays have relatively weak penetrability to metals, leaving metal ghosts, which will affect the inspection effect of the human body. Therefore, we do not use any metal products on the filming bed. This will ensure the clarity of the inspection.
